METAL TRADE COMAX, a.s. has taken responsibility for climate change and has set a sustainability strategy to reduce the impact of our production on the environment in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

A positive approach to the environment has been an integral part of our corporate strategy and policy since 2005, when we were certified according to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management system.

On the basis of the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) study prepared in accordance with ISO 14025:2006 and EN 15804:2015+A2:2019, we have so far prepared 6 EPDs assessing the environmental impact of our products when introducing new technologies or optimizing resources, which have been verified and published on www.environdec.com.

Our steps to fulfill ESG principles

 

Environmental

  • Energy savings and green energy
    1. Installation of photovoltaics from 2024 (1.1 MWp) with a gradual increase in power. In 2027, the total capacity should be 2.25 MWp
    2. Acquisition of a 387 kWh battery (2025) and plan to expand by 2 MWh in 2027
    3. The share of RES in 2025 was 8.5% of the total consumption of the area
    4. Replacement of existing lighting with LED in the SC hall with a saving of 10% compared to previous consumption
    5. Support for electromobility – vehicle fleet, own chargers on the company’s premises in Velvary (2022, 2023, 2024)
  • Innovation, investment in production technologies
    1. Construction of a new coil-coating line (launch in 2029) – lower water consumption, partial replacement of fossil fuels with electricity, reduction of waste
    2. Replacement of fossil fuel forklifts with electric ones according to performance. Fewer exhaust fumes, can be charged from PV plants.
    3. Modernization of waste treatment – automation of the filter press / wastewater control
    4. Increasing production efficiency at the Kolín plant – modernization of the longitudinal line and packaging line
    5. Reduction of technological waste through secondary processing – laser welding
    6. New production lines – welding line and laser at the plant in Litovel (use of energy efficiently for performance)

  • Own company doctor’s office directly at the workplace in Velvary

Den Erlös aus dem Weihnachtsverkauf unseres Charity-Kalenders PEOPLE 2026, der von unseren Mitarbeitern fotografiert wurde, haben wir der Stadt Velvary zur Unterstützung ihres Gemeinschaftslebens gespendet.

In den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten haben wir im Rahmen unserer Wohltätigkeitsarbeit 25.000.000 CZK (1 Million Euro) gespendet..
